Emily Brunini Peterson has worked twelve years in the federal government, all within the U.S. Senate. She joined Meguire Whitney at its opening in 2017, and focuses exclusively on guiding clients through the federal appropriations process.
Prior to joining Meguire Whitney, Emily worked in the Office of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), as both a Legislative Assistant and Legislative Aide. During Senator Cochran's tenure as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Emily joined the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee as a Professional Staff Member, under the helm of Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM). Emily focused on energy issues throughout her career on Capitol Hill, focusing on funding priorities while in Senator Cochran's office and crafting appropriations legislation while on the Appropriations Committee.
Emily holds both a Bachelors degree (2001) and Masters degree (2010) from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
